  • How long will it take to move to BT Premium Mail?

It shouldn't take us long to move your email to BT Premium Mail and once we've completed the move we'll send you an email to confirm it's done.

During the move you'll be able to continue to log in and use the service as normal.

  • If I choose to move to BT Premium Mail, will my email service change?

No, during the move you'll be able to continue to log in and use the service as normal. Your new BT Premium Mail service will be provided by BT Yahoo with the same functionality you have today. All your emails, folders, and messages will be there.

  • Why am I getting an error when trying to place an order for BT Premium Mail?

The most likely cause of this is that the email address you're using is not the primary email address (this is the first one that was set up when you originally ordered BT Broadband). BT Premium Mail orders will only accept the primary email address.

If you have more than one email address linked to the same account then you just need to upgrade the primary email address to BT Premium Mail and all your sub-accounts for that account will automatically be moved and form part of your new BT Premium Mail service.

If you don't know the primary email address you can check it on BT Yahoo Mail by following these instructions.

If you are no longer in contact with the primary account holder and wish to retain a sub account that is still linked to their account, please call 0800 917 9987 so that one of our agents can help you place your order for BT Premium Mail.

If you don't already have one, as part of the BT Premium Mail order journey, you'll be asked to create a BT ID. Your BT ID is the username and password you use to log in and view your bills at My BT. We'll send you an email about how to activate your BT ID so just follow the instructions.

  • I live overseas. Can I still keep my email service?

BT Premium Mail is only available to customers with a UK bank account.

If you've got a UK bank account but don't live in the UK, you'll only be able to order BT Premium Mail if you can provide UK contact details (a telephone number and postal address). These can belong to a family member or friend who gives permission for their contact details to be used.
