Your BT Total Broadband doesn't just give you high speed broadband at home – with your free BT FON account you can now access 100s of thousands of Wi-Fi broadband hotspots across the UK and around the world.
BT FON is a growing community of BT Total Broadband users who share a small portion of their broadband with other members, giving every member broadband access when they're in range of each other.
If you signed up to BT Total Broadband after March 2009, you're automatically signed up to BT FON. If you don't already have a BT FON account, it's free, safe and easy to sign up:
- It's free with your BT Total Broadband account
- You can check emails, search the web and get directions whenever you're in range of a BT FON hotspot
- Every BT FON hotspot runs on its own separate, safe channel so you're always secure
- You can also get online at over 2000 BT Openzone hotspots across the UK

What's Wi-Fi?
Simply put, Wi-Fi, or wireless broadband is a broadband Internet connection that works without wires. You can have a wireless broadband connection at home through your BT Home Hub, and when you're out and about with BT Openzone or BT FON.
What's a hotspot?
A Wi-Fi hotspot is an Internet access point in a public place like a café or hotel where you can connect to the Internet at broadband speed using a laptop, or other wireless-enabled device. All you need is a laptop computer that works with wireless broadband and a BT Total Broadband account.
