What is Roam Like Home?

Roam like at Home allows you to use your minutes, texts and data allowances within our Roam like at Home zones without paying extra roaming charges.
To check your roaming is switched on, go to your settings on bt.com/mymobile

Can I use all my data allowance abroad?

Yes from 1 June you can use your data allowance in any Roam Like Home country. From 15 June, if your plan gives you 20GB or more of data each month, a surcharge may be applied if you use more than 15GB in one billing cycle when roaming in our Roam like at Home countries. Can I Roam like at Home if I live abroad?

Roam like at home is only available if you live or are usually based in the UK and you mainly use your BT Mobile in the UK. If we think that over a period of at least 4 months, you’ve been living or mainly using your BT Mobile in a Roam like at Home country, we may ask you to explain the reasons for this and you might need to pay a surcharge.

  • Calls & Texts to the UK (to any UK mobile or standard fixed-line number 01, 02, 03)
  • Calls & Texts within the same Roam Like Home country (to a mobile or standard fixed-line number)
  • Calls & Texts to another Roam Like Home country (to a mobile or standard fixed-line number)
  • Receiving calls when in a Roam Like Home country
  • Calls to emergency services (i.e. 999 or 112)
  • Calls to Customer Care 150, 151, 154
  • Calls to numbers starting 0800, 0808, 0500
  • Calls to voicemail

Some things aren’t included in your bundle

These include; picture messages, calls to service numbers (starting 084, 087, 118), calls and texts to non-EU countries, calls and texts to international destinations from the UK.

Frequently asked questions

You will need to have ordered a BT Mobile plan online during a promotional period and waited 30 days. You can claim your gift card at bt.com/mobileclaim by filling in the form.

Once we have confirmed your claim your card will be dispatched. This could take up to 60 days to arrive.
To keep track of your SIM usage, allowances and settings, just go to bt.com/mymobile
If you're a BT Mobile SIM Only customer you'll get a £50 discount code in your e-mail confirmation. Go to http://www.shop.bt.com/learnmore/telephony/bt-mobile select your phone and enter the code when asked. You’ll find the code in your e-mail order confirmation
When you place an order with BT Mobile you might need to go through the following checks
  • A credit check - this checks your credit worthiness and stops people fraudulently ordering things in your name. You might need to answer a few questions about your job history and bank account. The check will be recorded on your credit file.
  • An identity check - this is to protect you from identity theft and fraud. You'll need to answer a minimum of three questions about your personal finances which will be checked against your credit file.
  • A bank check - this is to make sure the details you've given match the details that Equifax have on file.
We don't see or file any of the information you provide. It's all checked by the credit reference agency. If you have any questions about your credit file you'll need to speak directly to Equifax.

  • Yes, if you're ordering a Mobile Handset DPD will deliver your parcel and you can track their progress here. You'll need to make sure you're home when it arrives so that you can sign for it (it must be the account holder who does that). DPD will text and email you on the morning it's due to arrive with a one-hour delivery window. If you need rearrange it, just follow the instructions in the message.

    If you order before 4pm Monday-Friday or 11am on Saturday, you'll get your phone on the next working day - including Saturdays. Some parts of the country (like Highlands & Islands and parts of Cornwall) might take up to 48 hours. When you order, you'll be able to choose your own delivery day (within 7 days).

    SIM orders are sent via Royal Mail First Class delivery and are normally received within 3 working days.
