Do much more online, all at the same time, from watching HD movies or superfast gaming
Increased upload speeds of up to 20Mb allowing even faster file sharing
BT Infinity uses the latest in fibre optic broadband technology to deliver the internet at groundbreaking speeds. Instead of sending electric signals through copper wires, BT Infinity sends information down a glass network at the speed of light giving you a faster, smoother online experience. It's future proof so you'll be able to enjoy all the internet has to offer – now and in the future.
To achieve the fastest possible speeds and make the most of BT Infinity we recommend you connect via an Ethernet cable. To achieve more than 100Mbps you will need to ensure that your PC has a GigE port and should connect via Ethernet cable to the GigE port on your home hub. See the recommended computer specifications to make the best of BT Infinity.
See if you could benefit from our fastest speeds available by checking if your line is enabled for up to 160Mb. If you can't get BT Infinity 160Mb you could still enjoy speeds of up to 76Mb on one of the other Infinity packages available, or you can get up to 16Mb with our standard broadband.
Installing the fibre optic cable straight into your home for speeds of up to 160Mb is relatively simple, and there are a few key stages of the installation you should be aware of.
Watch our short video or read through the key stages below.
Please note in some homes Openreach have pre-installed the fibre optic cable and the new Openreach fibre modem that can support both your broadband and voice service. This means you will not need an engineer to provide your new Infinity services, as they can be connected remotely.
Don't worry, when you place your order we will advise you if an engineer will be visiting your home or not. If not, you simply need to take delivery of your new Hub which will be posted out and follow the activation instructions emailed to you.

When you order we'll give you the earliest broadband installation date available, but you can change it before your confirm your order if it's not convenient. BT Infinity 160Mb is installed in your home in two stages. The first stage needs to happen 7 working days before installing fibre inside your home.

A small box (approx 15cm x 10cm x 3cm) will need to be fixed to the outside of your property so we can run the fibre optic cable straight to your home. You do not need to be at home for this stage provided that the engineer has access to the outside of your property close to where your phone line enters to attach your fibre box.

Fitting your fibre box is the first stage. Next, an engineer will fit your Openreach fibre modem and Hub in locations agreed with you inside your home. You will need to be at home for this to happen as the engineer will need to have access to the inside of your home to fit your fibre equipment.

We'll need to place your Openreach fibre modem and Hub next to each other, so please make sure you have two power sockets available – if you don't, please have a power extension cable available.

On your installation day, the engineer will call you before visiting your home and connecting you to your new BT Infinity service. They will also be able to recommend the best place to connect your Openreach fibre modem and Hub along with any home wiring (which they will bring with them) if required.

That's it! You're now connected directly to BT Infinity and ready to enjoy speeds of up to 160Mb!
