Digital switchover completes in:

The Digital Switchover

Get set for switchover with BT Vision

What is the Digital Switchover?

TV across the UK is going Digital and by October 2012 the whole of the UK will have switched over. With digital TV reception, you'll get more TV channels, a better quality picture, and great new interactive features – but any analogue TVs you have will no longer work.

When does your area go digital?

The digital switchover has already been completed in some areas. Remaining TV regions will switchover by October 2012.

  • Meridian TV region – completes on 27 June
  • Tyne Tees region – completes on 26 September
  • Northern Ireland – completes on 24 October

Visit Digital UK for full details of switchover in your area.

What will happen after switchover?

As long as you've chosen a digital TV service like BT Vision before the switchover date, you'll be fine. All the TVs in your house will need to be enabled for digital TV coverage or they will stop working. If you already have BT Vision you'll need to retune your Vision+ box after switchover has happened to pick up your new Freeview channels.
