Switching your digital TV to BT

Switch to us for Freeview and great TV on demand – it couldn't be simpler!

Choose your TV package

First, order a TV, Broadband & Calls package and we'll contact your current provider to transfer your landline and broadband to us.

It normally takes around 15 days to switch to us, and we'll give you the earliest possible activation date when you order – if it's not convenient you can choose another date.

One of our engineers will install your new landline (if you need one) and your TV service can be connected on the same day as your broadband.

If you don't need a new line but would still like an engineer to help install your Broadband or TV service, you'll be able to choose this when you order.

Why switch to BT

Easy set up – no satellite or cable required as BT TV works over your BT Broadband (this doesn't affect your broadband download usage).
You're not tied to a schedule. BT TV has 5,500 hours of on-demand entertainment for you to watch whenever you like.
Freeview comes as standard with BT TV.

What do you need to get BT TV?

  • BT landline and broadband

  • Freeview coverage and suitable aerial

  • If you want to watch HD TV, you'll need a HD ready TV and HDMI cable

TV Aerial

To receive the Freeview digital TV channels, you need to have a suitable rooftop aerial. If you do not currently have an aerial, we can arrange for an engineer to install an outdoor digital aerial, with one cable running to your set top box or TV. Aerial installation is only £120 (incl. VAT). All equipment includes a one year warranty.
